Big News

Bryant got a call today and he got a job as a pilot for American Eagle!! We are so excited for our new adventure. He'll be based out of Dallas, Texas. He chose to start in January so we can spend one last Christmas here in Utah with our families. In January he'll live in Texas while I stay here and finish my last semester of school. I'll join him after graduation. It's fun and exciting but at the same time I'm pretty nervous, never having lived outside of Utah. I'm worried I'll get homesick. At least I'll be able to fly home for pretty cheap. I can't wait until this semester is over so we can spend a little bit of time together before he is off.

Waitress

Well, tonight I was going to maybe go to a movie with a friend of mine. I decided to check what was playing and then give her a ring. When I looked, to my amazement a movie that I have been wanting to see for quite some time was at the dollar theater. Of course I became very excited and texted my friend to see if she wanted to go. Alas, she wasn't able to. I still really wanted to go and in the end decided to go by myself. I thought it would be much more awkward than it was with it being a Saturday night and therefore a "date" night. I bought my single ticket, however, and held my head as I walked into the theater and chose a seat in the middle back (my usual). Waitress was the perfect movie to see by myself. I could tear up and not be embarrassed because I would never see these schmucks again. I enjoyed the movie (although it was pretty immoral, just to warn you before you head out to see it). I came away wanting to make pie and also with a hopeful contentment.
Movie theaters are so social. Hardly anyone goes alone. I quite enjoyed it, it allowed me to focus entirely on the movie and for 2 hours (ish) forget about my life and submerse myself in the film. I am quite glad I chose to go and will probably repeat it on those nights I need to escape.

I've been reprimanded

I didn't realize it had been so long since I've posted.

Here's my life right now:
I'm almost finished with spring term. I have a couple of finals this week and then I'll get a break (real short) and I start summer term on June 25th. I like spring and summer terms because they end about the time that I begin to lose interest and want to stop going to class. Plus, campus is practically empty and I can sit outside in the beautiful weather when studying. I get depressed with how much I have to stay indoors during the fall/winter. Bryant's home (for a bit). He got a job as a flight instructor (he has his commercial license and he's a certified instructor, yay!) at a school in South Jordan which he just started today. He seems to like it.

Now for my lists:

Lovely

The Idea behind this video was to go back to the place where the song was written and document the recording of the song for their upcoming accoustic album 'Paint it Golden(Pure recordings on a handheld device)'

Spring is on it's way

or mother nature is teasing us. I've been loving the unusually warm weather and especially enjoyed it when I was in California. I hope it's here too stay. I don't know if I can handle much more winter. I think one of my favorite things about spring/summer is the warm nights. I love being able to sit outside in the middle of the night without being cold. I love driving with the windows down listening to awesome music. It's the best with friends when you can sit in silence and just enjoy the atmosphere. It reminds me of that VW commercial where a group of friends is driving and no ones talking but Somewhere Over the Rainbow is playing in the background. It's just so comfortable. I hope those nights aren't too far away.

The internet knows all

You Will Be a Cool Parent
You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need. You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law. While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top.You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant!

Desolated

Bryant left this morning at 6:30 am. Needless to say it was a long weepy day. Especially since within my first hour of work a very persistent lady yelled at me (much akin to an unhappy child who does not get their way). And since I was already a bit emotional I started crying (awesome, I love crying at work). I got a little smile out if though when I thought of what Bryant would tell me when I told him about it, "Did you punch her in the face?" No he doesn't mean it (well maybe a little bit) but it made me smile to think of him and also to picture myself trying to reach over the counter and punch her, the weakling that I am. It reminded me of scrubs and JD's little daydreams.

I must say though. I really admire Bryant for going after his dreams. I'm a bit jealous though. He's so sure of what he wants to do and he's taking the chance to do it. I'm not even sure if I really want to teach. He's lucky to be so sure. Most people aren't even sure after they've graduated (I know a sweeping generalization but somehow it seems true. Maybe because I'm afraid that's what will happen to me).

This girl is already doing what she wants do to. It's pretty amazing, a child prodigy they call her. How would it be to be so completely talented at something almost from birth. Lucky girl. And she uses it for such good. I don't particularly love her art work but it's pretty amazing. She drew better pictures at age four than I can now.

Winter

The one thing I love about winter is how cold my bedroom is in contrast to the warmth and coziness of my bed. I hate getting out of bed during the winter because my bed is so inviting. I have flannel sheets right now which adds to the coziness. It makes it very hard to get up in the mornings.

Hey plugalong, thanks for the birthday wish. I loved the Jorie Graham poem you posted. Isn't she amazing. I love reading her poems because her rhythm and imagery is just so beautiful. Even when I don't understand the deeper meaning involved. I'd comment on your blog but it won't let me so I'll just have to leave you this message here.
